July 1st was National Boating Day. It was declared on June 25, 2009 by the U.S. Senate. This resolution was brought to the attention of the Senate by Senators Herb Kohl and Richard Burr. The purpose of this day is to recognize recreational boating and the boating industry’s importance to the U.S. economy and to the lifestyle of around 70 million boaters in the country. On this day, boaters enjoy spending time in nature, especially on lakes and along coastlines.
